Group rules & tips

In order to be a member and participant of the LDSMusicians.com email group there are a few simple rules we expect you to abide by. Comments and suggestions for these rules can be sent to the group moderator for consideration. This group is a casual community of LDS musicians from all walks of life, with varying interests, talents, goals, and opinions.  These rules exist mostly to give you an idea of how the group operates rather than to lay down hard and fast do's and don'ts.

1. Know what we're about. We exist to uplift and improve the quality and quantity of music written and produced by LDS artists. We do this through collaboration, constructive critique, performance opportunities, CD compilations, sharing of experience, emotional support, and enthusiasm.

2. Respect each other. Not everyone here will have the same interests and opinions as you will. This is exactly what makes a group like this so strong. We celebrate and nurture these differences as long as they are in keeping with church standards and teachings.

3. Keep threads of discussion relating to music. Often conversations take turns and twists and become off-topic for the group at large. Please take such conversations to private email.

4. This is not a place to debate doctrine. Some leeway is granted to discussions and interpretation of doctrine relating to music but, on the whole, doctrinal debates and diatribes are not welcome here.

5. Bring something to the group. Share your insights, experience, music, conversation, constructive critique, etc. Help to accomplish the goals and efforts of the group. Those who are here only to tear down or subvert our efforts may be removed. (Lurkers are welcome, but highly encouraged to chime in anytime!)
